About Project PETS:
Project PETS
(Providing Essential Treatment and Shelter)
This initiative aims to support local pets belonging to homeless individuals by providing essential veterinary services, including spaying, neutering, vaccinations, and general care. The program is a partnership between Backyard Midland and Fix West Texas.
Outreach
Identify and connect with homeless individuals who have pets in the community to inform them about the services offered.
Transportation
Backyard Midland volunteers will transport the pets to and from Fix West Texas for veterinary services.
Veterinary Care
Ensure that pets receive spaying, neutering, vaccinations, and general health care.
Support Services
Offer additional resources, such as food, supplies, and temporary shelter for pets during cold weather, enabling their homeless owners to seek housing at shelters that do not allow pets.
Project PETS will serve as a vital community resource, ensuring that homeless pets receive the care they need while supporting their owners in maintaining a nurturing bond with their furry companions.
